I remember watching a BBC Horizon program about longevity. Apparently sitting still for even an hour at a time is seriously bad for your health. These days I take keeping moving pretty seriously. I’ve got a lot of computer work to do, but I push the limits of what’s possible while mobile… But not at the expense of productivity.
I want to be able to talk hands free on my phone, and hear better when I watch videos. I want to use the same headset for Skype on my Mac with minimal fuss.
After some research the Plantronics Voyager Legend seemed ideal. My local Apple Store stocked them so I grabbed one. It worked perfectly with my phone (a Google LG Nexus 4 which I love)
UPDATE 16 October 2013: Although I still love the concept of LightPaper, I have recently re-discovered the beautify and simplicity of Weebly (this site is made using it) and now blog direct either via a browser, or their great mobile app.
Markdown is a relatively new, and very clever system for writing a simplified version of html. It’s particularly suited to mobile devices as all those funny characters are a nightmare to type on touch keyboards. Give it a try, it’s also popping up in a lot of web services like Trello.
I was stuck between the popular and hugely customisable WordPress, and Tumblr… Until Tumblr got taken over by Yahoo which makes me nervous. Will they continue the service, or close it and assimilate it?
You have two options with WordPress: host yourself with WordPress.org, or go for the easy but less flexible WordPress.Com. I went with to the latter, and if you’re not technical you can start with one and move to the other later.
